Overview

Are you a passionate innovator looking to harness the power of technology to do more good? You’ve come to the right place. NGP VAN, together with ActionKit and Mobilize, delivers leading technology to Democratic and progressive campaigns as well as nonprofits.

Our parent company, Bonterra, was formed by bringing together leading solutions from CyberGrants, EveryAction, Network for Good, Social Solutions and their respective entities to form the second-largest and fastest-growing social good software company in the world. This collaboration will help NGP VAN accelerate enhancements in our platforms and continue to drive our top three areas of focus: reinforcing the core, committing to innovation, and helping lead in the Democratic ecosystem.

We are currently operating as a remote workforce and have equipped our teams with the technology to stay connected to each other and our customers.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Mobilize is the volunteer recruitment and events management platform that connects mission-driven organizations and their supporters. The Mobilize platform has helped 3,000 advocacy organizations, nonprofits, unions, and political campaigns like Planned Parenthood, the Human Rights Campaign, AARP, and the Biden/Harris Presidential campaign sign up more than 4 million supporters for over 15 million actions.

Mobilize was acquired in December 2020 by EveryAction, the leading technology platform for mission-driven organizations. This partnership is turbocharging our growth and creating many new opportunities to scale the team’s impact. Together, we are part of the Bonterra family of products.

About the role

As a Senior Product Manager at Mobilize, you will join a passionate team working to empower thousands of mission-driven organizations and millions of their supporters to build a more just, inclusive, caring, and democratic society.  You will play a leading role in developing our platform, rallying the team towards the long-term product vision for Mobilize, and building a network that supercharges the impact of every user.

Who you are

  • You have a penchant for discovery. You’re constantly engaging with customers and users, using your quantitative skills to measure impact.
  • You have a proven ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints. You use sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
  • You have a deep understanding of growth tactics and network effects. You have some experience building successful consumer-facing or enterprise SaaS products. Experience with products that have a marketplace component is a bonus!
  • You thrive in a highly-collaborative and customer-facing environment. You are passionate about working alongside different teams, and understand that the best products are the result of many individuals contributing their passion and their ideas to discover creative solutions.
  • You have the communication skills to influence and inform effectively. You will need to influence your teammates and stakeholders, be able to convey concepts to a variety of audiences, and present updates clearly to customers and users.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and champion a product vision that delivers powerful organizing capabilities to our partners, empowers supporters, and expands our network of organizations and volunteers.
  • Develop a roadmap that focuses on maximizing real-world impact and business outcomes, including prioritization of feedback from internal and external sources, weighing trade-offs, and driving buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Lead a talented, driven, cross-functional team to execute our product strategy and achieve the company’s goals. You’ll work with engineering, design, finance, sales, marketing, and operations––often all in the same day.
  • Translate ideas and requirements into detailed product plans that not only guides our delivery, but also centers on our users and connects the work to our vision.
  • Form a deep understanding of our users’ experience and needs, through proactive discovery, constant engagement with our partners and users, and hands-on analysis.
  • Foster deep relationships with all departments, so that you understand the impact of our decisions on the company as a whole.
  • Drive the execution of end-to-end product lifecycle processes, including initial discovery, competitive analysis, market positioning, training, go-to-market, launch, and post-release iteration.
  • Constantly measure and communicate the impact of your team’s work, and drive accountability within our product planning and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in enterprise software or consumer-facing product management, software engineering, or an equivalent educational or career background (experience in an Agile environment preferred)
  • Experience with product management tools (ie. JIRA and Aha!) is beneficial
  • Experience with SaaS or marketplace-driven products strongly preferred
  • Experience using data to inform design and product decisions
  • Excellent time management skills and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills that ensure everyone is driving towards the product goals together and buy in to the product vision
  • Experience with SaaS or marketplace-driven products strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of how modern technology systems are designed and built
